Well Hellooooo WATERVIEW!
Talofa Lava lo'u aiga!
Well surprise surprise... I got TRANSFERRED! I'm no longer in Mt. Roskill. SAD! But I'm now serving in WATERVIEW with Sister Tugaga! (tu-nga-nga for you palaNgis lol) Details coming soon from that! but for now... I'll start at the beginning of last week.
Monday/P-day: we got to walk around the OUTSIDE of the All Black's stadium because they give tours at 2pm daily and we missed it by an hour! :( sad! But non the less, it was awesome, inspiring, and i bought a t-shirt.. .whats new? :) check the pics i attach! :) it was lots of fun, and some of the BLUES players (another rugby team for NZ) were coming in for practice... i solemnly swear i didn't look at their carved legs in their short shorts. :)
Tuesday: After District meeting my district leader and his comp took us to this place called BURGER FUEL. oh man. dad, logan, mitch, isaac, mom... YOUS HAVE TO make a trip to NZ, even if its just to taste this place... wow. best, largest burger i've had.
Wednesday: started as another wendesday we went to work, appointments fell thru.. .then District Leader called us and tolds us i was getting shifted. :( So now... Sister Hengehenga is with Sister Fuiono still in Mt. Roskill, and I am now in Waterview (which is also a large area covering the cities... avondale, new lynn, point cheveleir, waterview, and kelston to name a few, its huge!) and my new companion is Sister Tugaga! She is from Christchruch, NZ (south island) and is full Samoan. She has great Samoan, and I can already see/hear/feel my samoan improving by the day with her. :) I do miss sister H, but sister Tugaga and I seem to get along just fine as well, and i'm grateful for her help and new friendship. She actually finishes her mission at the middle of June, so there is a really good chance I'm her last companion! crazy!
Wednesday night sister H and I ran all over Roskill and Onehunga saying bye to ward members, Val, and Pepa, BUT i also finished strong in the area, by having a lesson with Kanesa! woop woop! i expect her to be baptized this month.. she is GOLDEN. I will miss the Mt. Roskill ward heaps, but I DO like waterveiw area very much so far!
Thursday. a gloomy rainy morning for transfers, but after the transfer meeting.... i found out.... I'M DRIVING!!!!!!!!!??? WHAT? yes. yes. i am driving on the LEFT side of the road. its gotten better the past few days, but just so yous know... in NZ the wipers are on the left and the blinkers are on the right of the steering wheel, so needless to say i sometimes do what they call, the "american salute" hahaahaa! But we had a MCM meeting with the WML and the Auxilaries, and man, this guy is great. our WML is on top if it and will bring miracles to this ward. i'm stoked for this ward.
Friday: starting to get to know the area and the people. We are in a finding stage b/c we just split the area, so now we double cover the ward with two elders.. Elder Calizo, and my NEW District Leader.. Elder Matua (from MTC!) So before this transfer sister tugaga was with sister pe'a (MY VERY FIRST COMPANION from the MTC), so i just took sister pe'a's spot, and the area the elders now cover is full of all their investigators so we are now looking for our own investigators. should be good though, i don't mind! :)
Saturday, another day meeting people and learning the area. i like the area a lot, and there seem to be heaps of samoans... roskill was just full of tongans haha. oh, and we met a family from the ward... they just brought back 3 new sons they adopted from samoa... so they want them to learn about the church and maybe be baptized??? :) so we now have 3 new investigators... 13, 17, and 18 yrs old. Also i can now say i've drank from a coconut... they brought heaps of stuff form Sa, and gave us coconuts while we visited. i had to drink the coconut water which was alright.. you you all know how much i LOVE (sarcasm) coconut flavoring...! SO i did my best to choke down the coconut water and eat parts of the coconut stuff inside the nut...? not my favorite island experience.
Sunday... my new favorite day next to monday haha... we have church at FOUR in the CITY! its so fun going downtown for church! I forgot to get a pic so hopefully i'll remember for next week! I'm so close to the sky tower i can almost touch it! so we have studies in the morning, church till four, fafaga ends at 6, so we only have 3 hrs of proscylting in the evening i like that. :) oh, and sister tugaga and sister pe'a have been teaching this part member couple... and the husband said he is ready to be baptized! so we now have a baptism for Pu'apu'a set for April 26!! yippie! they have a slightly complicated situation, but we pray it all irons out smoothly before the baptism day. :)
because i am on the other side of the world and ahead of time to the USA, we don't watch the General Women's meeting broadcast til NEXT sunday, and Gen Con the following week... SO NO SPOILERS PLEASE! :) yay for conf, i'm excited its here again!
That was the week! so much happens, but i hope yous all had a great week! Happy to see yous got to go do baptisms for the dead, you're being missionaries for our friends on the other side of the veil, SEKI! (short for sekia, which means awesome.) well i love yous heaps, and will write to you next week! on the plus side for yous.... i get to talk to you on the phone in 6 weeks! woop woop for mothers day! can you believe its almost here? :)
