first full week in waterveiw

Talofa lava lo’u aiga!

i hate internet cafes. we tried a new one in a different area to "save time" becasue we had to pic up the elders from a meeting..... buuuuuut turns out this place is more expensive than the other AND the computers are ancient and therefore i cant send pics home this week. i've been quite frustrated this morning. all i want to do is email without the computer crashing, send pics, and have time to relax. but our flat is being painted so we cant go back to the flat until 5ish.. UGH! i hate being frustrated......

Monday: we did some shopping, then took a 2 hr nap. It was great.

Tuesday: we got a call in the morning and were told that they need to paint our flat, so we’ve had to leave out flat in the morning and do our studies at the chapel, all last week and this week... its a pain. I’ll be grateful when this is finished.

Wednesday: continued to get to know people. We are staying busy, but not much to report.

Thursday: We had a Zone training, and i found out that there are 2 other elders in my zone that are from Boulder CO and Colorado springs CO! That was fun.  For fafaga we had it with bro. Fruean, an older single guy from the ward – we cant go to his house b/c there isn’t a woman, so we had dinner at an Indian restaurant... it was delicious!  BUTTER CHICKEN. Mom, look it up. Then make it this week. Ohhh man. Its the bomb! Then we had a member come out with us for the evening... and all our appointments fell thru, so that was fun... okay no it was just awkward when we didn’t know where to go for the last hour.... yeah.

Friday: yep. Another Friday.

Saturday:  crazy day. Drove so much. Put 90 ks on the car! We average about 50-60k.  We had Rescue Visits with the ward, so we met at the chapel, then drove all the way to the end of our area to visit a family then we took the RS ladies with us to a lesson with an investigator, that went well! Then we drove all the way back down town for our Ward Counsel meeting. Then all the way back to finish the evening. We decided to walk around our neighbourhood in the dark b/c we used soo many ks... we then had a near death experience where a dog comes out of this pitch black corner and scares the crap outta us!  Thankfully he was chained up, but we were about 5 feet from getting a nice bite. J  it took about 30 min for my heart to return to a normal rate.

Sunday:  2 baby blessings in a samoan ward = HEAPS of families at church! Fast Sunday.. so i felt like i should bare my testimony.... i was confident, then i get up there and open my mouth and the whole congregation did a double take when i started speaking, and at first i took it as i said something wrong, but later realised everyone was shocked the palagi girl can speak sa! Haha  no matter, i still got nervous and didn’t say things as well as i could have... oh well.

Also. Fafaga.... always tough to eat heaps when i’ve fasted all day in the first place, then you have these lovely families that, at the tables\ - when my plate is already full- they say, “there’s fish, lu’au, chicken, taro, chop suey, oka...” which means i have to eat some of everything............ L  my poor body wanted to die after it all. Oh, the stresses of being a missionary in the samoan program....

Then last night we got to watch the broadcast of the General Woman’s meeting! SO GOOD! Conf is like chrsitmas as a missionary. J  i really liked all the talks, but my favourite was the video of people singing I am a Child of God in different languages! Did yous realise the first lang was SAMOAN!!!! I nearly jumped from my seat with joy. J

Anyways.... thats all for this week! We are hoping for a great week with great success in the coming days. Wish us luck! J love you all!!!!!! and so sorry about no pics! i'm just as sad about not being able to attach any... stupid computer... :(

love, sister camilletti
